A Dream Fulfilled is Sweet to the Soul

I feel as though I'm on the brink of crawling back up the mountain and getting out of this valley.  It's comforting to know I'm not the only one who's there now or who's been there before.  And I cherish the support I have in all of you and others in my life.  Thank you, from the bottom of my heart...

These valleys can be REALLY difficult.  They can make you want to quit.  They can test your patience.  They can toy with your emotions.  But the more you fight against them, I promise, the easier it becomes.  We just need to be okay with repetition... with getting up and starting again.  We need to be okay with making mistakes and slipping up, because it's GOING TO HAPPEN.

* We are not perfect *

We have to accept that discipline is what makes us proud and accomplished in the end.  We have to be okay with saying no to temptations.  We need to stop compromising what we ultimately want for the thing we want right now.  Throwing in the towel is the easy thing to do... but it leads us to continuous feelings of shame, remorse, depression, and a miserable life.  (18)

God put dreams in your heart, spirit, soul... dreams that are important and can help you become a more fulfilled, joyful, happy person!  Why would we ever want to stay miserable?  It doesn't lead anywhere good... just to further self-loathing and disgust.  We'd be a fool to ignore the dreams God gave us by not trying to make them our reality!  (19)

When we surround ourselves with other dreamers, encouragers, and supporters of our dreams, it propels us in that positive direction!  We encourage each other, rejoice in the victories, and reach down to lift each other up when we stumble.  Feeling that we aren't alone helps us to get up and try again.  But surrounding ourselves with dream crushers/dream smashers/dream killers only leads us to further suffering.  (20)

I came across this passage today that spoke loudly to me about my very struggles.  I indicated above (with the small numbers) how the passages relate.  Thank you, God for helping me see this in Your light!

Proverbs 13:18-20 (NIV)

18 "Whoever disregards discipline comes to poverty and shame,
but whoever heeds correction is honored.

19 A longing [dream] fulfilled is sweet to the soul,
but fools detest turning from evil.

20 Walk with the wise and become wise,
for a companion of fools suffers harm."

Friends, please do not give up on this dream.  We CAN do this!  Let's continue making small changes and forgiving ourselves when we make mistakes.  Believe that this can happen... ALL things are possible to those who believe!
